I grew up in a household with two older brothers and an older sister. From a young age, I developed a love of sports and just being active. Throughout high school, I played softball, volleyball, basketball, and ran track. I found Crossfit in 2019 after graduating nursing school and looking for a different workout experience that also provided me with community. I quickly developed a passion for Crossfit when I experienced the mental, emotional and physical benefits of doing hard things collectively as a group. After graduating from nursing school, I started as an adult ER nurse at UMMC. Several years into my career, I accepted a travel nurse position in Oregon and was given the experience to live in a completely new place and experience several different Crossfit gyms in the Pacific Northwest. No matter where I have been, I have loved the community that Crossfit has given me and I have a desire to help to cultivate that community here at Comeback.
During my travel contract, I experienced an orthopedic injury while cliff jumping (sounds fun, right?) and had hip surgery as a result. Throughout the surgery and recovery process, my love for Crossfit increased. I think this was the turning point for me in my fitness. I learned the importance of scaling appropriately and truly found that Crossfit is infinitely scalable and is for all people. I saw how Crossfit benefitted my overall recovery and found that I was stronger than ever by walking through that long process. Because of my own experience with injury, I have a greater passion for helping others and cultivating that hope that complete recovery is possible.
My purpose for coaching is to see and celebrate the everyday wins of each athlete in their fitness journey. I love the opportunity to help others grow and succeed in their individual goals. I am so honored and grateful to be a part of this community of people at Crossfit Comeback.
